A Personal Approach, A Clinical Foundation
At Today's Vision Gateway, everyday vision care and medical eye care belong in the same conversation. Our Austin optometry practice brings both perspectives to the way we look after your eyes.
Your Life Gives Your Prescription Context
The right pair of glasses has a job to do. It might help you move between a laptop and a meeting room, settle into a book, or see the road ahead. How you use your vision matters when choosing what to wear.
That's why our optical conversations cover prescription needs, frame fit, and personal preferences together. We help you weigh your options so your eyewear feels practical and expresses your style.
An Austin Connection, With Medical Depth
Dr. Mark Chavana earned his biology degree at the University of Texas at Austin before completing his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry. His training at Houston Eye Associates emphasized cataract and glaucoma care.
That background connects this practice to both its city and the medical side of optometry. As a therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist, he brings experience with eye disease, specialty contact lenses, and care before and after eye surgery to a practice you can also visit for a routine eye exam.
Care That Connects the Pieces
Your medical history is part of your eye care. Our optometrist's training includes ocular conditions associated with systemic disease, bringing attention to the relationship between your eyes and your overall health.
Some prescriptions call for a different contact lens approach. Our eye doctor's areas of focus include lenses for astigmatism, bifocal contacts, gas-permeable lenses, and fittings for people with keratoconus.
Cataract and LASIK care involve decisions before surgery and follow-up afterward. Our optometrist has experience co-managing both, connecting your surgical care with your ongoing visits here.
